My Dying Bride

You might have seen it in my last.fm stats, I recently started ripping all my ‘My Dying Bride‘ cd’s to my iPod and now the band is making big jumps in my charts.

This should not come as a surprise since MDB is one of my favorite bands of all time. It’s my last wish to have My Dying Bride played at my funeral if I come to pass away. Although I hope this won’t happen any time soon.

It’s been almost 2 years since this Epic Doom Metal band released their nineth studio album, so I’m hoping for some new releases. Their last release is a DVD containing a live registration of their concert at Hof Ter Loo, Antwerp in 2003 where I was in the audience. It was a great concert, but I don’t normally buy Live DVD’s (although this one is very tempting).

One of the strengths of MDB is that all of their albums are of very good quality. If you would ask for my favorite MDB album, I would have name at least five.
Songs of Darkness, Words of Light‘, ‘The Dreadful Hours‘, ‘The Angel and the Dark River‘, ‘Like Gods of the Sun‘, ‘The Light at the End of the World‘ and ‘As the Flower Withers‘, that’ s even six of them.

If you’re into Doom metal and want to give MDB a try, make sure you listen to these songs:
The Wreckage of My Flesh, The Crown of Sympathy, She is the Dark, A Kiss to Remember, From Darkest Skies, Sear Me, The Return of the Beautiful and Turn Loose the Swans.
